When looking to relocate their family in a ground floor appartment, after the accident of the father, our clients found this old workshop with 3 appartments in the historical center of town.
The project needed a lot of préparation and understanding to meet the needs and desires of a recently turned around family with 4 children and a father now in a wheelchair.
The challenge was to create a disabled friendly environnement without it showing as such.
Deep in a court yard the project favored fluidity of movement and sun light. Creating an enclosed garden by which they enter their new house.
